Welcome to Patience & Buchan
Adoption

Our firm is very experienced in the field of Adoption. The law, for which was modernised following the Adoption and Children (Scotland) Act 2007, which came into force on 28th September 2009. The new Act extends the range of people who are able to adopt, as well as making other important changes. Apart from direct client instruction, work is referred to us by the Local Authority, the Law Society of Scotland and by other local agencies. Cases can range from straightforward to complex and can sometimes involve children from other countries. Adoption can often be a complex and sometimes slow process, as it involves changing a person's status, but it is also one of the most pleasing areas of work that we do.
